The Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA) honored Jennie H. Kwon, DO, MSCI, assistant professor of medicine, infectious diseases, for her exceptional accomplishments in the field of Healthcare Epidemiology along with her years of service and commitment to SHEA.
This category of academic membership honors individuals who have achieved special recognition and documented excellence in the field of healthcare epidemiology. Dr. Kwon has first authored and co-authored numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals with a majority related to healthcare epidemiology (including antimicrobial stewardship). Since 2015 Kwon has been involved in service and commitment to SHEA through her membership and participation in multiple committee work and task forces, including past-chair of the awards committee and current vice-Chair of the research committee.
Kwon is independently funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), and the CDC, and is a mentor with the Clinical Research Training Center, working with burgeoning clinician-scientists by guiding them on their own clinical and translational research journeys.
