The infectious diseases division at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis has grown markedly in the last five years. In order to foster the continued success of our diverse missions, we are pleased to announce the appointment of four section heads for the clinical side of the ID Division.
- Jonas Marschall, MD, MSCI, professor of medicine, is designated section head of General Infectious Diseases.
- Rachel M. Presti, MD, PhD, professor of medicine, is designated section head of HIV and other viruses and Sexual Health.
- Andrej Spec, MD, MSCI, associate professor of medicine, is designated section head of Transplant ID.
- Jennie H. Kwon, DO, MSCI, associate professor of medicine, is designated section head of Hospital Epidemiology and Antimicrobial Stewardship.
The major roles of the section heads will be to work closely with the division leadership to develop a strategic plan for clinical and translational research and service delivery for the Division, to strengthen fellows’ training program in conjunction with the program directors, and to provide mentorship and leadership for junior faculty.
