Dr. Fabricant attends on the inpatient ID consult service at BJH. He runs a general clinic and also works with our HCV and STI programs.
Dr. Scott Fabricant joined WashU Medicine Division of Infectious Diseases as an Assistant Professor of Medicine in August 2026. Dr. Fabricant received his medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and completed his residency in internal medicine at New York Presbyterian Hospital before going on to serve as an ID fellow at Boston Medical Center (Boston University). Prior to medical school, Dr. Fabricant majored in biology at Washington University and then completed a PhD in evolutionary ecology at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia. He then traveled to Brazil for a postdoctoral fellowship studying immunity to mycoses.
Dr. Fabricant’s clinical and research interests focus on the intersection of infectious diseases and substance use disorders, including serious injection-related infections, hepatitis C, HIV prevention, and evidence-based risk reduction strategies. He also has a strong interest in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of sexually transmitted infections. Dr. Fabricant is passionate about medical education and enjoys working with learners at all stages of training, with a particular focus on curriculum development for medical students.
Dr. Fabricant works primarily on the inpatient ID consult service at BJH while also running a general and post-discharge infectious diseases clinic. He also will be working with the WashU Medicine HCV and sexually transmitted infections programs.
