Former fellow, Bonnie Westrope Rawot, dies at 64

Bonnie Rawot, MD passed away peacefully at her home on April 18, 2024. Many who knew Bonnie will remember Medicine was a second career for her.  She was an accomplished musician and talented flute player, as detailed in her obituary, which we recently came across.

Dr. Rawot recognized her true calling would be in medicine, after caring for a sick relative. Dr. Rawot completed medical school in at the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine, then completed her Internal Medicine Residency, followed by an Infectious Diseases fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine in St Louis, Missouri. While at Washington University she was awarded the Knowlton Incentive Award, which recognizes and supports the training of compassionate, skilled physicians at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine. Bonnie was one of the first women to ever receive that honor.

Our thoughts are with her family and friends.
