Dr. Conor Grant joins the Department of Medicine, Infectious Diseases Division

Conor Grant, MD, PhD, joins the Department of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases as an Assistant Professor in October 2025.  He graduated from Trinity College Dublin with an honors degree in Medicine in 2013.  Since graduating, he pursued his clinical specialty training in Infectious Diseases and Internal Medicine at several university hospitals in Ireland, with a particular focus on HIV and tuberculosis (TB).  After achieving distinction in a Diploma in Tropical Medicine from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, Dr. Grant worked clinically in the Central African Republic with the organization Doctors Without Borders.  

Dr. Grant developed his teaching capacities as a tutor for the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland’s Diploma in Infectious Diseases.  His clinical research has focused on opt-out screening for blood-borne virus infections and the TB and HIV care cascades.  In 2024, Dr. Grant graduated from Trinity College Dublin with a PhD in Clinical Medicine.  His laboratory research focuses on innate immune responses in respiratory infections including TB, nontuberculous mycobacterial (NTM) infections and viral infections like COVID-19 and investigating novel host-directed therapies (HDTs) for these infections
