Conor Grant, MD, PhD

Assistant Professor of Medicine

Conor Grant joined the Department of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases as an Assistant Professor in October 2025. He graduated from Trinity College Dublin (Ireland) with honors in 2013 and then completed his residency and specialty training in Infectious Diseases (ID) and Internal Medicine. Dr. Grant also obtained a postgraduate Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, achieving distinction, and applied his expertise in Sub-Saharan Africa where he worked with the organization Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), and subsequently served on the Board of Trustees of MSF Ireland. He then completed a PhD in Clinical Medicine at Trinity College Dubin, graduating in 2024.

Dr. Grant specializes in the innate immune responses to the pathogens causing Tuberculosis (TB), Nontuberculous Mycobacterial (NTM) and COVID-19 infections, and his laboratory research includes the search for novel therapies targeting the host for these difficult infections. He has also published clinical research on the care cascades of TB and HIV, and large-scale screening for HIV, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C. Dr. Grant was an invited co-author of the National Tuberculosis Guidelines for Ireland 2024/2025 and organized a national TB study day for fellows in his home country of Ireland. Dr. Grant attends on the general ID consult service and enjoys teaching fellows, residents, and students. He also sees patients in his general ID and NTM clinic, as well as at a multidisciplinary clinic with Pulmonology colleagues for patients with NTM pulmonary disease.
