Congratulations to Caline Mattar, MD, selected chair of Expert Advisory Group for Global Antimicrobial Resistance hub based in Germany.

Caline Mattar, MD, Assistant Professor of Medicine, has been named chair of the Expert Advisory Group for the Global Antimicrobial Resistance Research and Development (AMR R&D) hub based in Germany. The hub, launched in May, 2018, was formed by 15 countries as well as the Gates Foundation and the Wellcome Trust, to coordinate funding efforts for new antibiotics and vaccines. As a chair of the Expert Advisory Group, Mattar will lead a team of 13 other global experts to help evaluate the market potential of vaccines, diagnostics and antibiotics targeting the pathogens on the World Health Organization priority pathogen list as well as tuberculosis.
