America’s Essential Hospitals has selected Dr. Kavita Bhavan’s submission, “Patient Engagement in Self-Care: OPAT at Parkland Hospital”, the winning recipient of the 2016 Gage Award in the category innovation and excellence. The strategic priorities of America’s Essential Hospitals include identifying and disseminating evidence-based best practices that raise care quality for all, especially vulnerable people, and communicating members’ quality leadership. The 2016 Gage Awards program honors the outstanding work of members of America’s Essential Hospitals.
Through the Gage Awards, America’s Essential Hospitals recognizes the learning necessary for members to successfully carry out improvement projects, spreads best practices and innovative programs to other organizations, and supports research, policy, and advocacy work by sharing stories of member success with a broad audience.
The 2016 Gage Awards were presented at a luncheon June 16, 2016, during VITAL2016, the association’s annual conference. San Francisco General Hospital and Boston Medical Center received honorable mentions.
