Assistant Professor of Medicine

Dr. Douglas Kepko joined WashU Medicine in 2026 as an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases. He serves as the Medical Director of Infection Prevention for Barnes-Jewish St Peters Hospital and Progress West Hospital. He also sees patients through the Missouri Baptist Medical Center Infectious Diseases consult service.

Dr. Kepko earned his medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine before completing residency at Summa Health. During residency, he focused on educating medical students and interns prior to starting fellowship at The Ohio State University in Infectious Diseases. During the first year of fellowship, he completed a research project evaluating the clinical outcomes of the HIV Fellows Clinic. In the second year, he focused on infection prevention, joining the medical directors of epidemiology in reviews and meetings and completing a quality improvement project on the MRSA HOB.
