The ID Division once again welcomed fellows-in-training from Thailand to train over several weeks. David Warren, MD, MPH, Professor of Medicine helped organize the training.
Since 2012 the ID Division has hosted infectious disease fellows from Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok for a 4-week rotation in healthcare epidemiology and infectious diseases. This year we hosted 4 fellows. Their rotation included 2 weeks of healthcare epidemiology and infection prevention. This involves rounding with BJH/WUSM infection prevention specialists, attending infection prevention meetings, and meeting with ID faculty who oversee infection prevention and occupational health at the University. The second 2 weeks of their rotation involved rounding with the General ID, and Transplant ID Inpatient Consultation Services. They also interacted with our own ID fellows and attended fellow seminars onsite.
