Congratulations, Rupa Patel, MD, MPH, DTM&H, assistant professor in ID, on receiving the Ethic of Service Award from Washington University!

Washington University in St. Louis and the Gephardt Institute for Civic and Community Engagement presented the 16th annual Gerry and Bob Virgil Ethic of Service Awards Wednesday, April 17, 2019 in the Knight Center Dining Room on the Danforth Campus in St. Louis.

Dr. Rupa R. Patel, assistant professor of medicine infectious diseases, was among those who were honored with the award this year. Founded during Washington University in St. Louis’ Sesquicentennial year, the Gerry and Bob Virgil Ethic of Service Award is an annual award recognizing a select group of WashU community members who exemplify a character of service and contribution to the St. Louis region.

Honorees of the 2019 award also include Jared Lalmansingh,  Dr. Laurie Punch, George W. Sessen, Alexis Vidaurreta, Aaron Williams and Olivia Williams. Stephanie N. Kurtzman, the Peter G. Sortino Director of the Gephardt Institute welcomed participants, WUSTL trustee John Beuerlein served as host and Provost Holden Thorp offered closing remarks.
