Infectious Diseases Pharmacy names Jami Dean next ID Pharmacy Director

Dean

The Division of Infectious Diseases is excited to share that Jami Dean has been named ID Pharmacy Director, effective November 1. Dean currently serves as Pharmacist in Charge, a role she took on in 2022 after first joining the WashU ID Pharmacy in 2021 as a Specialty Staff Pharmacist.

During her time with WashU Medicine, Dean has played a key role in expanding the ID Pharmacy, helping open two clinic-based specialty pharmacies while maintaining licensing and recordkeeping compliance. She developed pharmacy workflows, implemented and trained staff on pharmacy software, and supported hiring, onboarding and collaboration with various teams to improve patient care. She also strengthened service offerings by supporting HIV, PrEP, psych long-acting injectable, travel health, COVID, and tuberculosis programs, assisting with point-of-care HIV testing, prior authorizations, copay and grant assistance, and partnerships with public health departments, clinical trials, and pharmaceutical partners.

Dean is taking over the role of Pharmacy Director from Lauren Karpman, who is moving on to a role at Gilead Sciences.

Please join us in congratulating Jami on this promotion.
