Daisy Fernandez, MD, MPH

First Year Fellow

Dr. Daisy Fernandez returns home to the state of Missouri for the WashU Medicine ID Fellowship Training Program. She grew up in the small town of Verona, MO — located in southwest part of the state — and lived there until she moved to Columbia University in New York City to earn her BA. Before finishing her Internal Medicine residency at the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles, California in 2026, she completed her MPH at Emory University, Rollins School of Public Health and medical school at the University of Missouri in Columbia.

Outside of the hospital, you might find Dr. Fernandez at a pottery studio. She can make her own mugs, bowls and vases after picking up pottery during residency.

Why did you choose WashU for your ID fellowship?

“Returning to the Midwest was a priority. During interview day, WashU ID stood out as a top program with a wide reach within the Midwest region. This reach allows for exposure to diverse clinical cases, all while providing ample opportunities to work within the public health sphere.”
