 ase studies.</p><p>Physicians\, midlevel practitioners (PA\, NP)\, nurses\,
  and other health professionals who see patients with or at risk for sexual
 ly transmitted infections (STIs) are encouraged to attend.</p><h5><strong>C
 ourse Objectives</strong></h5><p>At the end of this course\, participants w

 l features of reportable STDs: syphilis\, gonorrhea\, chlamydia.</li><li cl
 ass="x_MsoNormal">Understand current STD epidemiological patterns.</li><li 
 class="x_MsoNormal">Describe clinical features of common bacterial STDs:  s
 yphilis\, gonorrhea\, chlamydia</li><li class="x_MsoNormal">Recognize clini
 cal presentations of common viral STDs:  genital herpes\, HPV</li><li class
 ="x_MsoNormal">Demonstrate improved skills in completing STD history and ph
 ysical exam.</li><li class="x_MsoNormal">Discuss clinical characteristics o
 f common vaginal infections:  trichomoniasis\, bacterial vaginosis\, candid
 iasis</li><li class="x_MsoNormal">Integrate HIV risk assessment into patien
 t care.</li><li class="x_MsoNormal">Demonstrate universal precautions durin
 g specimen collection.</li><li class="x_MsoNormal">Describe current approac
 hes to STD/HIV prevention including pre-exposure prophylaxis and expedited 
 partner therapy.</li><li class="x_MsoNormal">Discuss evidence-based strateg
 ies for STD treatment\, according to CDC’s STD Treatment Guidelines.</li></
