er

Dr. Sabo's research is focused on better characterizing immunolog
ic function in the female reproductive tract. Specifically\, she is workin
g to define how differences in vaginal microbiota influence inflammatory ch
anges in the cervix and contribute to adverse reproductive health outcomes.

Dr. Sabo has been awarded an NIH K23 Career Development grant to stu
dy how sub-optimal microbiota alter cervical dendritic cell number and func
tion\, for which sample analysis is currently underway. Additionally\, Dr.
Sabo is the recipient of a CFAR New Investigator Award to evaluate differe
nces in cervical immune cell types using RNA sequencing in women with and w
ithout bacterial vaginosis.

Clinically\, Dr. Sabo has an academic int
erest in infections resulting from congenital (primary) immune deficiencies
\, and she founded a clinic to care for adult patients with proven or poten
