 /h5><p>Dr. Alysse G. Wurcel is a physician-scientist and public health lead
 er whose research centers on infectious diseases\, health equity\, and the 
 intersection of medicine and the criminal-legal system. She earned her unde
 rgraduate degree from Tufts University and her medical degree from the Univ
 ersity of Pennsylvania. She completed her internal medicine residency at Ma
 ssachusetts General Hospital and infectious diseases fellowships at Columbi
 a-Presbyterian Hospital and Tufts Medical Center.</p><p>Currently\, Dr. Wur
 cel serves as a physician at <a href="https://www.bmc.org/about-us/director
 y/doctor/alysse-wurcel-md" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Boston Medical Ce
 nter</a> where she focuses on the following key research areas: HIV and Hep
 atitis C Care\, Infectious Disease Management in Carceral Settings\, Substa
 nce Use and Infectious Diseases\, and Health Disparities and Policy Reform.
  Her achievements include\, but are not limited to\, being recently appoint
 ed Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Correctional Health Care\, authoring 1
 60 peer-reviewed publications\, being selected as Multiple Principal Invest
 igator on four National Institutes of Health R-level grants. She is also an
  Infectious Diseases Liaison Massachusetts Sheriffs’ Association and on the
  Executive Board of the Academic Consortium for Criminal Justice Health (AC
 CJH).</p>
