by Keith Lohse\, PhD\, PStatⓇ will cover Rigor and Reproducibil
ity as defined by the NIH. Rigor refers to the application of the scientifi
c method while emphasizing unbiased and well-controlled experimental design
 \, methodology\, analysis\, interpretation\, and reporting of results. Repr
oducibility refers to the ability of other researchers to obtain the same r
esult given the same data (i.e.\, strict “reproducibility”) or obtain a sim
ilar result when a new sample of data is taken (i.e.\, do we get the same r
esult across studies? – sometimes referred to as “replication”). Dr. Lohse
will discuss threats to rigor and reproducibility\, and how to make your re
search more robust in a fast-paced scientific world.</p><p>This seminar is
 part of the<strong> <a href="https://crtc.wustl.edu/resources/workshops-sem
 inars/career-development-seminar-series/">CRTC Career Development Seminar S
eries</a></strong>. The Career Development Seminar Series offers periodic w
orkshops and presentations open to all trainees\, faculty\, and staff on pr
ofessional development\, best practices\, resources\, and guidelines pertai
 ning to research.</p>
